Threat to portable records

The portability service for Criminal Records Bureau checks - which allows nannies to use their latest CRB disclosure for all the job agencies they register with - is under threat from Government proposals to require a new disclosure and fee payment at every agency registration. The Recruitment and Employment Confederation has protested to the Home Office that the plans to withdraw portability would slow down the job market and hinder flexibility for nannies and agencies alike.
