Fawood Children's Centre in Harlesden, north-west London, has won an award from the Royal Institute of British Architects. The £2.3m centre, which was designed by William Alsop, was praised for its 'friendly cage' design and its beneficial effect on children (see Nursery World, 3 March 2005).
