Sacked nanny's cash victory

A nanny was paid £4,000 compensation out of court last month by an employer she was taking to an employment tribunal for unfair dismissal when she was pregnant. Manchester nanny Hayley Peak had taken doctors' advice not to work for a month when she suffered stomach pains in early pregnancy, only to find that her boss, Karen Brody - ironically, a barrister and judge specialising in family law - replaced her.
