Guinness Book of World Records

Nursery World, 19 June 2003

(Photograph) - A group of 317 Scottish children sang their way into the Guinness Book of World Records with the largest simultaneous sing-along for charity. Pupils from La Jolie Ronde, a language centre that offers French to children aged between four and 11, performed a three-minute song in French at Strathclyde Park in North Lanarkshire on 1 June, to kick off a fundraising campaign for children suffering from sleeping sickness in the French Congo. Tutor Lesley Clarke said, 'Helping other French-speaking children was a natural thing to do and it's great to have achieved a world record.'
