Inspired by the philosophy of Reggio Emilia, settings in the South West linked up with artists and cultural centres to explore new ways of developing creativity. Wendy Scott reports Three years after exhibitions in Exeter and Bristol on early years care and education in Reggio Emilia, practitioners across the West Country remain inspired by the Reggio approach. One such scheme influenced by the Reggio principles is a research project known as '5 x 5 x 5 = Creativity in the Early Years'.
