Pre-school tutors win training grant

The Pre-School Learning Alliance has been awarded £900,000 from the European Social Fund to offer vocational training in literacy, language and numeracy skills for more than 200 parents in disadvantaged areas. The two-year project will operate from five of the PLA's Neighbourhood Nurseries and provide basic skills courses alongside childcare training to help improve job chances and promote social inclusion.
