(Photograph) - Chancellor Gordon Brown levelled with children from Field Lane Children's Centre in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, at its official opening last week. The three- and four-year-olds presented the Chancellor with an abacus, sang him a song and told him about their Christmas presents. Mark Nicholas, programme director for Sure Start Elland, said, 'These state-of-the-art facilities provide a huge opportunity for Sure Start and our health and education colleagues to give local children a really good start in life.'
