Childcarers face down deregulation

The Government may be forced to back down over proposals to deregulate group childcare for six- and seven-year-olds because opposition from the sector has been so fierce, Naomi Eisenstadt, director of the Sure Start Extended Schools and Family Group admitted last week. Further protests were raised at measures in the Bill to drop the Quality Assurance and Investor in Children schemes.
