* Little Angels Nursery in Cramlington, Northumberland, has won £2,500 in the North East regional heat of the Edge Employer Award. The award recognises the best employers in England offering practical learning opportunities to 14- to 25-year-olds. Little Angels will go through to the national finals on 1 November for a chance to win £25,000. * Just Learning, the UK's third-largest nursery chain, has appointed Jane Jobson as North East area manager. With over 20 years' experience in the early years sector, she takes over the role from Denise Raine, who is now the company's quality director.
