Hundreds of thousands of children are living in overcrowded homes

A lack of social housing suitable for families means hundreds of thousands of children are living in overcrowded homes, according to a new report from the housing charity Shelter. The report, 'Full House?', surveyed 505 overcrowded families and found that three-quarters of children were forced to share a bedroom with their parents. A quarter of children had to sleep in rooms other than bedrooms due to a lack of space and nine out of ten children believed overcrowding was harming their education.
