A survey of nurseries at universities undertaken by our sister publication, the Times Higher Education Supplement, has found that all but two of the 38 universities that responded provide childcare on or near campus. This compares with just 5 per cent of employers generally who provide on-site childcare for their staff. Monthly costs varied from £825 at Middlesex University to £347 at Brighton.
