New group to call for change

Faced with challenges to the sustainability of the private and voluntary sector, some of the biggest nursery chains in England are joining forces to carry out a large-scale review of how they can play a greater role in the ten-year childcare strategy. Following a meeting last week of some of the largest chains in the UK, the group now working as the Major Providers Group has asked Steve Alexander, chief executive of the Pre-School Learning Alliance (pictured), to chair the review.
