Early success for pupil plans

A reporting system being considered by the Scottish Executive is helping to provide early years practitioners with a broader picture of nursery children's development, a conference heard last week. Pilots of Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) in Dumfries and Galloway for each child aged from three years have been getting parents more involved in their child's education and were giving nursery workers a more complete view of the child's development, according to Isabel Murphy, education officer at Dumfries and Galloway Council.
