These free school meals cost us all

I work in a primary school in a deprived area where a large percentage of the children receive free school meals. The menu, with lots of fried foods, sausages, hamburgers and chips, certainly does not promote healthy eating. On the last day of term, picnic boxes containing sausage rolls and spam sandwiches were provided as a treat. The catering is, of course, done by an independent company.
