A study of disruptive children conducted by the Institute of Psychiatry has found that one child can cost £6,000 a year in extra school, social services and NHS bills, said the Daily Mail. Child behaviour experts interviewed the parents of 80 'seriously naughty' children aged between three and eight. New research from London's Institute of Education suggests that leaving babies to cry in the hope that they will learn to settle themselves can be counter-productive, particularly in the first few weeks of life, reported The Daily Telegraph.
