Two weeks ago, I contacted both the University of Hertfordshire and the Open University (OU) expressing my interest in embarking on the Early Years Professional pilot scheme. I have been offered a place with the OU/National Day Nurseries Association and am attending the initial briefing session in Birmingham. This is some distance to travel but as I am the owner of my setting, I can decide my hours actually spent in nursery, a luxury not available to some.
