A great idea suffering from lack of funding

Nursery World, 18 January 2007

Following the letter from Jean Ensing regarding the fragility of Neighbourhood Nurseries (Letters, 14 December), I would like to add my concerns. I have been running a Neighbourhood Nursery in York since May 2004. It still has not reached a level of sustainability after nearly three years, and without additional financial support it is difficult to see a long-term future for it. We have now moved into a purpose-built nursery as part of the new children's centre, a facility which is a joy to work in and which has cost a great deal of money to develop.
