City nurseries to link up to ICT network

Children in Glasgow are to benefit from a £15.5m plan to introduce networked PCs and laptops in the city's council-run nurseries and primary schools. From April, 125 nurseries will have access to a managed ICT service. Plans approved last Friday include providing the head of every nursery with a laptop computer, introducing networked PCs for teaching, providing a Glasgow-based helpdesk and central service facility, and offering continuing professional development for staff equivalent to 1,000 training sessions a year.
