There were plenty of strange stories in the papers last week. According to The Guardian, an extraordinary punishment for mouthy children has emerged in America. Parents and teachers are encouraged to dab naughty children's tongues with Tabasco sauce, a technique known as 'tongue-spanking'. Although the punishment is banned in many kindergartens and schools, 'hotsaucing' has become popular, especially in the Deep South.
