* Sir Roger Hurn has become the new chairman of Child Base, the UK's ninth largest nursery chain. He replaces the retiring chairman, Sir Peter Thompson. Sir Roger joins the company from Prudential, where he was chairman from 2000. Prior to that, he had been deputy chairman at Glaxo Wellcome.
