Persian New Year, or Norooz, begins on 21 March, the first day of spring. Seven dishes are laid out on a table to represent health, happiness, prosperity, joy, patience, beauty and life-rebirth. The mirror reflects images of creation to celebrate the beginning of a new cycle of life.
