Nurseries turn out to debate funding

The grassroots campaign against the Government rules for nursery education funding was stepped up last week when 400 private and voluntary nursery providers attended a meeting called by Kent County Council. The meeting debated the revised version of the local authority's interpretation of the Government's Code of Practice for the free early education entitlement for three-and four-year-olds, with a panel including KCC leader Paul Carter, Darrell King, chair of the Association of PVI Providers (Kent) and DfES deputy director Graham Archer.
