The cot death study which discredited paediatrician Sir Roy Meadow and helped free two women convicted for killing their babies has been criticised in a paper in the British Medical Journal. The study was found to be 'fatally flawed' following the death of its founder John Emery, said the paper. The authors last year classified every death after an older sibling's cot death and for which there was no strong evidence of killing as natural.
