Carers alerted to child poison risk

The head of a child safety charity has warned parents and carers to remember that bottles and packs of tablets are 'a devil's sweetshop' to young children and to take the necessary precautions to keep chemicals and medicines out of their reach. The warning was given earlier this week by Katrina Phillips, chief executive of the Child Accident Prevention Trust, at the start of Child Safety Week, which runs until 27 June.
