Prized environment at nursery

(Photograph) - Photo Paul Reid Budding environmentalists from Friarton Nursery School in Perth were runners-up in the annual Harris Moore Awards, which promote environmental awareness among children, writes Joyce Reid. Staff and pupils created a wildlife garden for birds to feed in, a log pile for insects, a weather station, a sitting area and a play area. Headteacher Catherine Parrot said, 'The children talked about what they wanted and made the plans, and then sold plants raised from seeds to boost the garden fund.
