Children's author Shirley Hughes has won the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal for her book Ella's Big Chance: A Fairy Tale Retold. It is the second time she has received the award, the first being in 1977 for Dogger. Judging panel chair Colin Brabazon said, 'Ella's Big Chance impressed in so many ways - a wonderful flowing line, an exceptional sense of composition and a gorgeous use of colour.'
