Higher level teaching assistant - HLTAS

School support staff make a vital contribution to pupils' learning and achievement. With the introduction of a new programme of training and assessment, staff who achieve higher level teaching assistant status will be able to offer proven skills to support teachers. The Teacher Training Agency has developed and published standards for higher level teaching assistants, linking to those for Qualified Teacher Status.
