Case study: Clyde Early Childhood Centre

Nursery World, 16 December 2004

Clyde Early Childhood Centre is on the edge of a large housing estate in Lewisham, south-east London. The initial approach from the busy main road sees an unpromising wall and car park. Follow the arrows directing pedestrians round the building to the alley that leads to the entrance, and the outdoor area comes in to view. Then you begin to get a sense of the rich learning environment that lies behind the bleak facade. Stepping inside the centre, you know that you are in a special place.
