* Also in Cambridgeshire, a mother of two has been found guilty of stealing £42,000 from a playgroup. Carol Williams, 42, admitted taking money over five years while working as book-keeper and treasurer at Honeypot Pre-school in Willingham. Cambridge Crown Court heard that she forged another staff member's signature on cheques to pay off family debts of £80,000. She was given an 18-month prison sentence suspended for two years. It was reported that Judge Jonathan Haworth spared Williams jail because she has two young daughters.
