* Christine Davies, corporate director for children and young people at Telford and Wrekin Council, received a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. Other professionals honoured for work with children included Bernadette Duffy, head of the Thomas Coram Early Excellence Centre, and Gill Frances, director of children's development at the National Children's Bureau, who both received OBEs. Jan Casson, Sure Start programme manager for Berwick-upon-Tweed, received an MBE.
