Yoghurt Nutritional value Yoghurt is nutritionally similar to milk, but because yoghurt is fermented it is more easily digested and can be suitable for lactose- intolerant children. Its high calcium content is very well absorbed. For good bones and teeth, two- to four- year-olds need 400 to 450mg of calcium a day. A small (150g) tub of plain yoghurt contains 225mg of calcium.
