The National Day Nurseries Association's fifth regional centre was opened in Birmingham on 18 March by MP Liam Byrne. The West Midlands Regional Centre was partially funded by the Neighbourhood Nurseries Initiative. It includes a 98-place nursery and services for the local community. NDNA chief executive Rosemary Murphy said, 'We are looking forward to the future development of the Centre and working closely with the local authority to fulfil its potential as a children's centre and flagship of excellence for the sector.'
