New safeguards for children on internet

Plans for a new centre to combat internet child abuse were unveiled last week, along with new guidelines for parents and carers aimed at keeping children safe when searching the internet and using chatrooms. The guide by the Home Office Internet Task Force acknowledges that while searching for information on the internet grows in popularity, one of the risks for children is that they may find material that is offensive or illegal.
