Timely training

I sympathise with Jane Taoka (Letters, 5 April). There used to be a similar problem in Cheshire with the local authority only offering courses at times that were unsuitable for childminders, but after much discussion and explanation about how difficult it is for childminders to attend training sessions during the day on Monday to Friday, the situation has been resolved. Without adequate training, it will not be possible to implement the new Early Years Foundation Stage.
