An Ofsted survey has found that 107 out of 139 local authorities are making a good contribution towards developing better outcomes for the majority of children and young people. But 'Narrowing the gap: the inspection of children's services' also found that for a significant minority, provision is not good enough. The report is available at www.ofsted.gov.uk.
