Get off the phone and drive

If you were ever tempted to pick up your phone while driving, have the new penalties sworn you off forever? Road safety campaign Brake and Green Flag insurance did a survey to highlight the law introducing a £60 fine and three points on the driving licence of anyone caught using a mobile phone at the wheel. It found that 47 per cent of drivers admitted to talking on a hand-held phone or texting while driving, though 61 per cent thought they had only a slim chance of being caught.
