Concept Training offers approaches to behaviour

20 February 2012, 12:00am

At some point most practitioners will find themselves in the position of having to manage a child who is exhibiting challenging behaviour.

Participants in 'Positive Ways of Changing Behaviour', run by Concept Training, can consider their own attitudes and values, and analyse it within the context of groups of need. The one-day course includes 'behaviour escalation' and 'de-escalation strategies'. At the end of the session, participants are expected to be able to use a model of functional analysis in the workplace to explain difficult behaviours, examine different levels of support and understand the importance of planning for the child.
