The Big Picture: Drumming up mutual respect

06 February 2012, 12:00am

Catholic and Protestant children from Long Tower and Foundation Primary Schools in Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland, work together to create a rhythm on the drums.

The Big Picture: Drumming up mutual respect

The community-led project is one of five run by Early Years, the organisation for young children, through its Faces and Spaces - Children's Shared Space Programme, designed to promote respect for difference.

Working with children and families from deprived wards, the projects aim to help build long-lasting relationships in interface or contested areas in Northern Ireland.

The projects are funded by the Contested Space/Interface Programme, run by the Northern Ireland government and Atlantic Philanthropies.
