The Big Picture: Here we go round

23 January 2012, 12:00am

The Mulberry Bush Nursery Walmersley in Bury is the latest setting in the group of four to be awarded outstanding by Ofsted.

The Big Picture: Here we go round

The nursery, opened last July, is based in the former New Inn Public House dating back to the late 1800s.

Once a hub of activity in the local community, the New Inn used to host Christmas dinner for the elderly of the parish, but had fallen into disrepair.

To restore it to its former glory, Mulberry Bush spent nine months repairing and converting the building to turn it into an 80-place nursery.

The setting had only been operating for five months when it received top marks from Ofsted, along with the group's other nurseries, which were all inspected last year.
