The Children's Legal Centre has set up a new child protection helpline for professionals

The Child Protection Advice line is ran by an experienced family law solicitor and offers advice and information to professionals who have a duty in safeguarding children.

It is funded by the Department for Education’s Improving Outcomes for Children, Young People and Families’ Fund, and forms part of the organisation’s new Child Protection Project (CPP), which also includes a new website for practitioners and the delivery of bespoke training.

The website, planned for 2012, will include information on relevant legislation and guidance, legal and policy updates, analysis of current issues in child protection and safeguarding and summaries of relevant reports and key legal judgments.

The service has been created to address the lack of training and information currently available to frontline practitioners.
