Free milk scheme launches in Wales

09 March 2011, 12:00am

Around 500 Welsh-medium playgroups and nurseries (Cylchoedd Meithrin) are to be provided with free milk by a partnership between Cool Milk and voluntary organisation Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin.

All under-fives attending nursery for two or more hours a day are entitled to 189ml of milk. Cool Milk arranges for dairies to deliver the milk and recovers the cost from the Government, relieving nurseries of that administrative and financial burden. For details visit www.coolmilk.com.
