Name: Suzanne Williams

Spotlight on ... Suzanne Williams, assistant head, Willow Children's Centre

Position: Assistant head at Willow Children's Centre in Islington.

What does your job involve?

I facilitate outreach and family support, and ensure the smooth running of the activities we offer at the centre. A big part of my job is around priority referral and child protection.

What experience have you had working with children?

I did my initial training in health in the 1970s and went on to work with disabled children and adults. Throughout my career I have done a lot of work within the voluntary sector, experience I have been able to draw on in my current role.

How have you benefited from doing an MA in Integrated Provision for Children and Families?

It was a great opportunity to be able to do the MA. I started in 2006 and graduated last year. I feel I benefited personally from doing the course, and studying at Pen Green Early Excellence Centre was brilliant, as they were so supportive.
