More Parent Champions appointed

07 July 2010, 12:00am

Six local parents have been recruited by Islington council in London to be parent champions based at children's centres and primary schools to offer parents advice about education, training and jobs.

Support will include help with choosing the right course and childcare for their needs and linking them up with other council services. Islington is one of 25 areas across the country to receive funding from the Child Poverty Unit for parent champions.
