Call for childhood obesity strategy

08 July 2010, 12:00am

The Government is being urged to announce a strategy for tackling childhood obesity during National Childhood Obesity week, 5-11 July.

A campaign by the National Obesity Forum and after-school health programme provider MEND will see a coalition of health groups calling on the Government to set out its short-term and long-term vision for reducing childhood obesity levels. MEND is also launching its first Move It Week to encourage children and families to get physically active together. For details go to www.nationalobesityforum.org.uk.
