No time for families to be together, poll says

02 June 2010, 12:00am

Parents spend an average of 49 minutes a day with their children, according to a survey released to coincide with National Family Week on 31 May to 6 June.

It found that 68 per cent of parents see money as a barrier to spending more time with their family, while 66 per cent of children said they were happy to spend time with their family at home rather than going out.

The study of 4,000 parents and children was commissioned for National Family Week.
