Work matters: Training - Update

Delegates at the National Day Nurseries' annual conference in London expressed concern that the training system was failing businesses by not delivering basic business skills, particularly where the EYP was concerned. Maureen Smith, director of Futurewise Solutions, said part of the problem was that business skills were not mandatory units for many qualifications - although 'there are few practitioners out there who don't need some business knowledge.'
