Probably a starting place would be the Ofsted documents:
Guidance to the National Standards, Full Day Care
and
Revisions to the Guidance
See the Publications section of the Ofsted website.

OK then tusker i will help you. You NEVER tell a child they are naughty, you can tell them it is not nice, tell them why, give them a warining and then time out to every year of their age for a 4 year old give them four minuted alone time to think about what they did, then encourage the child to say sorry or cuddle the othe child. never physically punish or restrain a child if the child is likely to hurt themselves move all objects out of the way and place them in a soft area until they get over it. Say nothing do not encourage bad behaviour, praise all good "well tom you used your spoon well done" everything they do no matter how little praise it as it will improve their self esteem so you will lose negative behaviour.
