Time out

It’s all very well saying that time out is segregation and bad for the child but private one to one chats don't always work and if a child continues to do whatever negative behavior they are doing what else are we supposed to do. Giving the child something creative to do in the long run yes is a good idea but if the child is being disruptive during an activity lets say story time and I then I let them do a painting activity to let out there anger or aggression that child will think that every time they are disruptive they will be given something fun to do. In my setting if a child is being disruptive I send them away from the activity that they are disrupting usually into the story corner and let them calm down for a few min before talking to them. I find this kind of time out works wonders.
