Need help with my 201 assignment ( NVQ Level 2 in CCLD) Please Help!

I have just started my course and I am already confused! I have been told by my adviser that I have to complete the 201 part in my folder which is fine but I do not understand it! Does anyone know how I complete it? It says that I must know and understand certain things which I do....but do i write them down in essay form? should I research all these things and just make sure I understand them? I am unsure of what I should have ready by the time my assessor comes back! Hope I don't sound too stupid.

HI Sam, why don't you give your Assessor a ring and ask her to explain, if she's worth her salt she wont mind and will be glad you called. There is nothing worst than turning up to assess someone only to discover they havent done it, especially if a quick phone call could have sorted it. Honest Sam just give her a call I promise you she wont mind!

Thanks very much, yeh I agree that would be best I have emailed her but with no reply...... So I will pick up the phone and call her! Thanks for the advice it makes me feel a lot better! I feel like I am at school again!! Ha Ha

Hi Sam

I agree with Janny, your Assessor should be your first point of call.  You need to sit down with Your Assessor, undertake an Action plan with her (Him?).  Within the action plan she should highlight what you need to research/read, how best you are going to meet the criteria., either through written work via the KS, a professional discussion or through the performance criteria.

Your Assessor should now be trained to A1 standard which addresses these issues  Each method of assessment needs to be broken down for you so that you can clearly establish a path and have direction.  Once your action plan is complete, you should then have an assessment plan outlined, which means your Assessor should indicate the exact method of assessment be it either through written work via the KS, a professional discussion or through the performance criteria, a date for undertaking the chosen assessment method should be agreed by you both.  This would establish for example if you need to write short paragraphs to address legislative criteria in the KS or undertake a chart for developmental related questions.  In my experience Essays are not used in NVQ's

You would then undertake the requirements on the date agreed.

Your assessor would then provide you with feedback directly after an assessment has been undertaken and then the whole process starts again - Action plan, Assessment plan, undertake assessment and Feedback.

This means you have clear direction throughout your NVQ.  Good luck.  So sit down and talk with your Assessor as she is there to support you.

I done my level 2 last year and to cover each unit I wrote these things called reflective accounts. I would write what I done that day for example have a conversation with a parent and after I had explained what I done I then wrote my answers to the knowledge. Sorry can't remember what they are but would be similar to, it is important to have a good relationship with the parents because and so on to cover them. These reflective accounts will show you know the info and put it into practice. Hope this helps.
