I think good childminders will continue to do what they have always done - help children play and learn in safety. If you take the time to read the EYFS there is nothing there that childminders do not do already. Observations/develoment records can always be kept as photos, artwork and anecdotes, just like now. I was a childminder almost 20 years ago (wow - doesn't time fly) and it's so much better now as childminders are regarded as professionals and not just a convenience. A new edition of the EYFS has just been issued, but haven't read it yet.
